Maine Pool Code Requirements
Maine Pool Code requires public pools and spas to be registered with the state and operated in compliance with Maine’s public pool and spa rules. Barrier walls and fences must meet minimum height and clearance standards, and pedestrian access gates must be self closing, self latching, and able to accommodate a locking device. Maine Pool Code also requires lifesaving equipment, including a pole, a throwing rope with a ring buoy, and a first aid kit with barrier protection to be available at all times.
